ADHD

Attention Deficit-Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) is a common neuro-developmental disorder that can affect a person’s attention, impulsivity, memory, and other cognitive functions. While it is often diagnosed in childhood, ADHD can affect people well into adulthood. Many people think of ADHD as something that primarily affects kids, but it affects adults as well. Some children live with ADHD into adulthood, while others do not get a diagnosis until they’re adults.

Autism

Autism spectrum disorder (ASD), or simply autism, is a neurodevelopmental disorder characterized by persistent deficits in social communication and social interaction across multiple contexts and restricted, repetitive patterns of behavior, interests, or activities. Autism in adults may present with different symptoms than in children. Autism symptoms in adults may include difficulty making conversation, social anxiety, and limited interest in only a few activities.

Anxiety

People with Generalized Anxiety Disorder (GAD) cannot stop themselves from worrying constantly about common situations. They worry about things like work, health, family, finances, or literally anything else. While most people feel anxious at times, people with GAD feel overwhelmed by their anxiety. Living with constant worry can become a major distraction to the point where you cannot live a normal life because of the thoughts and feelings driven by your anxiety.

Depressed Man

Depression

Depression affects the way you feel about yourself and things. It is not the same as being unhappy or in a “blue” mood. It is not a sign of personal weakness or a condition that can be willed or wished away. When you have depression, you can’t “pull yourself together” and get better. Depression often occurs alongside other medical problems like injuries, disabilities, illnesses, chronic pain or mental health conditions such as substance use disorder or anxiety disorders.
